Doctor Ese Stacey (MBBS, MRCGP, MSc (Sports Med), FFSEM(UK)) is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine and one of the foundation fellows of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (FFSEM UK).

She trained at St Mary’s Hospital Medical school, London (now part of Imperial College), qualifying in 1990. She has worked in Elite Sport, in Rugby, Football, and Triathlon as well as working as Senior Clinical Lecture at the Academic Department of Sport and Exercise Medicine at the Royal London Hospital.

Dr Stacey has a particular interest in how the gut affects health and especially joints and soft tissue healing. Patients who don’t get better from standard treatment often have other issues such as a low grade background level of inflammation that interferes with the healing process. Patients who suffer with intestinal symptoms such as IBS or have subtle signs that the immune system isn’t working as it should (such as asthma, eczema, athletes foot or recurrent infections) or have more obvious signs of metabolic ill health such as diabetes and high cholesterol may find it beneficial to have their condition managed from an holistic view point.
