EXERCISE THERAPY AND REHABILITATION
All therapists recognise the value of supervised, graded exercise to return the patient to work, play and competition. Depending on the duration and degree of tissue damage passive and active exercises are prescribed to restore strength and length (relaxation), relieve spasm and contracture.
Regaining neuromuscular control of the limb to enable normal and eventually high performance is key to full rehabilitation. We will concentrate on balance and coordination using the latest tools. Relief of pain inhibiting movement is an early aim of all rehabilitation, using ice, ultrasound, and appropriate analgesics.
No matter what your age or level of participation in life and sport we will encourage you to live life to the full by helping to maintain or improve fitness and endurance.
The benefits of physical activity for all round cardiovascular health, mental health, joint and muscle health, prevention of some types of cancer and longevity cannot be understated.
